For years, Asian Community Mental Health Services (ACMHS) has been pioneering approaches to mental health services for Asians and Pacific Americans who face cultural, economic and/or linguistic barriers to care. Our mission is to provide and advocate for multicultural, multilingual family services that empower the most vulnerable members of our community to lead healthy, productive and contributing lives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Devise, implement and improve quality assurance system to ensure that all the agency’s clinical charts meet the documentation and billing standards set by MediCaid, MediCare, County Behavioral Health Care Departments and other funders;
- Keep abreast of the developments of laws and ethics, HIPAA, audit requirements, documentation, utilization and quality assurance standards at federal, state and county levels; oversee and ensure agency’s compliance with all the aforesaid;
- Serve as agency’s HIPAA Privacy Officer and handle any HIPAA related complaints;
- Maintain agency clinical staff’s NPI records and licensure status, and ensure that they are current;
- Conduct regular qualitative and quantitative review of clinical charts and give feedback to staff and management on areas of improvement, and further training;
- Review and handle any disallowed claims according to funders’ requirements;
- Review departing clinical staff’s charts to ensure completion;
- Attend county’s Utilization Review and other quality assurance related meetings as needed;
- Provide regular trainings and documentation orientation to agency’s clinical staff regarding to documentation standards, audit requirements, and risk management;
- Serve as agency’s MediCal Administrative Activities (MAA) Program Coordinator, attend related training and meetings, train and ensure staff to complete time survey and supporting documentation correctly;
- Work closely with the data input and MIS staff in developing, managing and utilizing county and agency generated reports; and
- Any other duties as may be required by the Clinical Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum a Master degree, and at least three years direct clinical services and MediCal documentation experiences in mental health field;
- Meticulous, organized, and ability to interpret and present information in different report formats;
- Good oral and written communication skills;
- Experience working with, sensitivity to, and knowledge of the needs of the Asian community;
- Team player with the ability to work with a culturally diverse staff and client population;
- Valid California Drivers License, auto insurance with bodily injury liability limit of at least 100,000/300,000 and access to use of an automobile; and
- Support and implement the mission, vision and values of Asian Community Mental Health Services.
