The “Clinic” provides outpatient mental health services for people who are chronically and severely mentally ill.

The average annual cost of serving mentally ill clients at ACMHS is much lower than the average cost in  Alameda County

ACMHS’ wellness and recovery model helps clients be contributing members of society

A total of 12 consumers volunteered for ACMHS, contributing about 420 hours;

One consumer became our consumer intern, interning at ACMHS 2 days a week for 3 months.  13 clients were referred to Alameda County Vocational Program in year 2007, compared to only 6 in previous four years.

Developmental Disabilities Services

Developmental disabilities include autism spectrum disorders, cerebral palsy and Down syndrome.

ACMHS helps people with developmental disabilities live in the least restrictive setting possible (i.e. to live with family/friends rather than in a nursing facility or a hospital).

By working closely with DD clients and their support networks, ACMHS’ services save taxpayer dollars.

Cost of ACMHS’ services: $87 per month

ACMHS works with infants (0-3 years old) who exhibit developmental delays. Through ACMHS’ efforts, almost half can be discharged because they have “caught up” developmentally.
