KOREAN SPEAKING MENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST

SALARY:              Competitive salary, plus benefits including family health coverage (medical, dental, vision) and 3 weeks vacation to start  

REPORT TO:                     Clinical Supervisor

                                           

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides mental health, drug & alcohol counseling and clinical case management services for primarily adults, and families in the Korean community.  Services to be provided in the clinic, clients’ homes and community settings;
  2. Performs comprehensive mental health treatment services that include intake evaluation, diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, individual and group therapy, case management and assertive outreach;
  3. Provides translation services and cultural consultation to other providers;
  4. Collaborates effectively with other agency departments and community partners to establish continuity of care for clients;
  5. Maintains timely and accurate documentation of service contacts in accordance with agency, county, state guidelines and quality assurance standards;
  6. Meets the standard of monthly required billable units;
  7. Participates in agency committees to improve service delivery and assists in developing and implementing treatment programs as assigned;
  8. Participates in staff meetings, trainings, peer review meetings and supervision sessions; and
  9. Other clinical, administrative and operational duties as assigned by the Director of Behavioral Health Care Services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology from an accredited college or university;  Master degree in one of the above fields preferred;
  2. Bilingual and bicultural in Korean required. Additional language skills a plus;
  3. Knowledge of DSMIV and working principles with severely mentally ill, dual diagnoses clients; 
  4. Experience in providing individual and group counseling, case management, and treatment planning preferred;
  5. Ability to maintain effective and professional working relationship with others;
  6. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; computer literacy in MS-Word, Outlook and Scheduler preferred;
  7. Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment and adhere to the legal and ethical standards of the social work field; 
  8. Valid California Driver’s license, auto insurance with bodily injury liability limit of at least $100,000/300,000 and access to use of an automobile; and
  9. Support and implement the mission, vision, and values of Asian Community Mental Health Services.
