SOCIAL WORKER (YOUTH SERVICES)

HOURS: 100% FTE (full-time employment)

JOB CONTROL: Clinical Supervisor

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide mental health and related clinical case management work for youth in clinic-based as well as school and community-based settings;
  • Perform comprehensive mental health treatment services that include intake evaluation, diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, individual, family, and group therapy, and case management;
  • Collaborate effectively with other agency departments and with community/school partners to establish continuity of care for clients;
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of service contacts in accordance with agency, county, and state guidelines and quality assurance standards;
  • Meet the standard of monthly required billable units;
  • Participate in agency committees and task forces to improve service delivery, and assist in developing and implementing treatment programs as assigned;
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, peer review meetings, and supervision sessions;
  • Other clinical, administrative, and operational duties as assigned by the Director of Behavioral Health Care Services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited college or university;
  • Knowledge of DSM-IV and working principles with children, youth and families;
  • Experience providing substance abuse prevention/treatment a plus;
  • Ability to work with a culturally diverse staff and client population;
  • Sensitivity to and knowledge of the needs of the Asian community;
  • Bilingual/bicultural in an Asian language a plus;
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
  • Ability to work independently, exercise professional judgment, and adhere to the legal and ethical standards of the social work field;
  • Valid California Driver’s license, auto insurance with bodily injury liability limit of at least $100,000/300,000 and access to use of an automobile;
  • Support and implement the mission, vision and values of Asian Community Mental Health Services.
