"Years ago, there were many stereotypes about Asians and mental health. The misconception that Asians don't have mental health problems was one we were determined to demystify. That action was the beginning of ACMHS. The seed we sowed has grown into a sturdy tree. My vision was to see ACMHS not only to render direct mental health services, but also coordinate with other mental health related projects. That is what ACMHS does today. But we must not become complacent with this success story, because after 30 years, mental health services to Asians are still not adequately addressed. We must always maintain the pioneering spirit in this field and always give back to the community in any way we can."
